Playing in a manor

For my project, The Asylum, this month we shot at Ellys Manor. This is for scene 15 and is the setting of the Hastings (Anna and her family) home. Ellys Manor or the Old Rectory is a late-fifteenth to early sixteenth century manor house in Great Ponton. This scene is to allow the character development between Anna and her mum as well as show that Anna's memories are starting to reflect her current life at the asylum as Dr Elizabeth replaces her mother in the scene.
I really like this location, the walls upstairs are covered in medieval paintings. Which although fascinating made our shoot more interesting as you could not place direct light on them. This meant becoming inventive with our lighting for the scene. The manor had character and only served to inspire me more for this project.
Here are some images and some footage from the shoot.
